Dozens of bankrupt asbestos manufacturers were required to establish 524(g) asbestos trust funds as a condition of their Chapter 11 reorganizations. Together these trusts hold more than $30 billion and continue to pay qualified claimants decades after the companies stopped making asbestos products.
Each trust below corresponds to a specific company. Because a worker was usually exposed to products from many of these companies, a single claim often reaches multiple trusts at once. For how trusts work in general see Asbestos Trust Funds — How They Work and the mesothelioma claim process.
