Worthington Corporation built integral gas engine-compressors for interstate natural gas pipeline mainline compressor service from the 1930s into the 1970s. According to publicly filed asbestos litigation records, Worthington pipeline units were allegedly fitted with asbestos-containing exhaust manifold gaskets, allegedly wrapped with asbestos cloth cylinder-jacket lagging on the power cylinders, and allegedly used asbestos rope packing around the cylinder heads and exhaust access covers.
