Product Description
Sundstrand Corporation (Rockford, Illinois) manufactured through the asbestos era a line of high-speed industrial centrifugal pumps used in refineries, power plants, and petrochemical facilities for hot-oil circulation, boiler feedwater service, and high-pressure process applications. Sundstrand pumps were specified for service conditions where conventional ANSI process pumps were undersized.
Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that Sundstrand pumps were specified with asbestos pump packing, asbestos casing and flange gaskets, and asbestos motor and bearing-housing insulation. Pipefitters and millwrights who repacked, rebuilt, and serviced Sundstrand pumps disturbed asbestos materials.
Sundstrand Corporation has been named as a Manufacturer Defendant in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation.
