Product Description

Standard Insulations, Inc. was through the asbestos era a major U.S. insulation contractor and asbestos products distributor that supplied and installed asbestos pipe covering, block insulation, asbestos cement, asbestos cloth, and related insulation materials across refineries, U.S. Navy and commercial shipyards, fossil and nuclear power plants, paper mills, chemical plants, and industrial construction sites. Standard Insulations operated within the broader U.S. insulation-contractor industry alongside Brand Industrial Services, IREX, Owens-Corning Service Company, and other major asbestos-products distributors.

Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that Standard Insulations supplied, distributed, and installed asbestos-containing pipe covering and block insulation products manufactured by Johns-Manville, Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Pittsburgh Corning, Eagle-Picher, and other principal asbestos insulation manufacturers — and that Standard Insulations exposed its own insulator workforce, journeyman insulators from local HFIAW Local halls dispatched to its projects, and the broader trade workforce on its job sites to respirable asbestos fibers during installation, repair, and removal scopes.

Standard Insulations has been named as a Manufacturer Defendant, Distributor Defendant, and Installer Defendant in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation.
