Product Description
Salisbury by Honeywell (Salisbury Electrical Safety) has long been a leading supplier of electrical protective gloves, sleeves, and arc-flash PPE to U.S. utilities, fire departments, and industrial fire brigades. Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that pre-1980s Salisbury electrical protective gloves and arc-flash sleeves allegedly incorporated an asbestos-fabric inner liner selected for radiant-heat and arc-flash protection under the outer dielectric-rubber layer.
Allegedly, these asbestos-lined gloves and sleeves were supplied for firefighter electrical rescue operations at downed powerline emergencies, utility substation fires, transformer explosions, and industrial arc-flash incidents.
Workers Exposed
- Municipal firefighters — allegedly exposed during downed-powerline rescue, transformer fire response, and vehicle-vs-pole extrication using asbestos-lined electrical gloves
- Industrial fire brigades — refinery, chemical plant, and steel mill brigade members allegedly issued Salisbury gloves and sleeves for high-voltage electrical fire response
- Air Force base fire department crews — allegedly issued Salisbury electrical PPE for flightline and hangar electrical emergencies
- Fire equipment maintenance personnel — allegedly exposed during glove inspection, air-test, patch/repair, and end-of-life disposal
- Utility-line workers cross-serving as industrial fire brigade — allegedly exposed during hot-work switching and arc-flash-rated tasks
If You Wore Salisbury Electrical Protective Gloves
Firefighter asbestos exposure claims are actively litigated in U.S. courts, and the 20-50 year latency period between exposure and mesothelioma or asbestos-related lung cancer diagnosis is typical of this occupational class. If you or a family member wore Salisbury by Honeywell electrical protective gloves or arc-flash sleeves during a fire-service or industrial career and have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, asbestos-related lung cancer, or asbestosis, you may have a claim.
