Product Description

Munson Machinery horizontal ribbon blenders were widely installed in dry blending applications across food, chemical, pigment, and pharmaceutical plants from the 1950s through the 1980s. According to publicly filed asbestos litigation records, the ribbon-agitator shaft stuffing boxes allegedly used braided asbestos packing rings, and the trough top-cover and gate-valve discharge flanges allegedly sealed with compressed asbestos sheet gaskets.

Repacking the packing gland, chiseling out spent flange gaskets, and cutting replacements from asbestos sheet stock during clean-out and rebuild allegedly generated respirable asbestos fibers over the operator work zone.
