Product Description

Maremont Corporation manufactured Grizzly-brand asbestos-bearing automotive brake friction materials, brake linings, and clutch facings from the 1950s through the late 1980s. Grizzly products were widely installed as OEM and aftermarket friction components on automobiles, trucks, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery.

Maremont has been named in publicly filed OBLF petitions and broader U.S. asbestos litigation as a friction-product Take-Home Exposure defendant (Exhibit B) and as a Product Manufacturer defendant (Exhibit A).

How Workers Were Exposed

Automotive mechanics, heavy-equipment mechanics, brake technicians, and industrial maintenance mechanics performing brake service, brake-pad replacement, brake-rotor machining, and clutch service on Maremont Grizzly friction products generated airborne asbestos fiber during routine work.
