Product Description

Kelly-Moore Paint Company (founded 1946, headquartered San Carlos CA; ceased operations 2024 after filing Chapter 11 driven by asbestos personal-injury liability) was through the 20th century a major U.S. West Coast paint and coatings manufacturer. Kelly-Moore also manufactured through the asbestos era ready-mixed joint compound and texture products containing asbestos fiber.

Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that Kelly-Moore Paint Company joint compound and texture products contained chrysotile asbestos through the documented production era and that drywall installers, painters, and construction workers who applied, sanded, or removed Kelly-Moore joint compound and related products were exposed to airborne asbestos.

Kelly-Moore Paint Company has been named as a Manufacturer Defendant in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation on a substantial scale — Kelly-Moore’s West Coast asbestos-personal-injury liability drove the 2024 Chapter 11 filing.
