Product Description

General Marine Corporation supplied stainless-steel galley range hoods and associated grease-duct assemblies for U.S. Navy and merchant-marine galleys. According to publicly filed asbestos litigation records, the hoods allegedly incorporated asbestos fabric fire curtains, asbestos-cloth heat shields lining the interior of the hood, and compressed asbestos-sheet gaskets at grease-duct flanges and cleanout doors. Routine galley cleaning, hood-filter changes, and yard-period duct rework allegedly disturbed these asbestos-containing components.
