Product Description

Flowserve US, Inc. (a/k/a Flowserve Pump Corp.) is the corporate successor to numerous historic U.S. pump and valve manufacturers, including:

  • The Edward Valve and Manufacturing Company (high-pressure steam valves)
  • Byron Jackson Pumps (under BW/IP International, Inc.)
  • Durco Pumps
  • Worthington Pumps
  • Pacific Pumps
  • Wilson-Snyder Pumps
  • Many other historic pump and valve brands consolidated under Flowserve

Through the asbestos era, Flowserve-predecessor equipment was installed at U.S. petroleum refineries, chemical plants, electric utility power plants, naval shipyards and Navy vessels, federal facilities, and broader U.S. industrial worksites.

Flowserve has been named as a major Equipment Defendant in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation.

Asbestos Content

Plaintiffs alleged Flowserve-predecessor pumps and valves incorporated asbestos in:

  • Pump and valve gaskets at flange joints
  • Pump packing at shaft penetrations
  • Valve packing at stem penetrations
  • Asbestos-bearing thermal insulation on hot-fluid pumps and valves
