Product Description
Federal Pacific Electric Company (FPE — historically headquartered Newark NJ; today distributed across various successors including Reliance Standard and various parts-supply operations) allegedly manufactured through 1955-1990 the Stab-Lok brand of residential and commercial circuit breakers, load centers, industrial switchgear, and motor controls — one of the principal U.S. residential and commercial electrical panel installations of the late-20th-century construction era.
Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that FPE Stab-Lok circuit breakers, load centers, and industrial switchgear were specified through the asbestos era with asbestos arc-chute components and asbestos-filled phenolic laminate components — and that electricians and electrical service workers who serviced FPE Stab-Lok equipment during the documented era were exposed to airborne asbestos during arc-chute service and switchgear maintenance.
Federal Pacific Electric has been named as a Manufacturer Defendant in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation.
