Product Description

The Falk Corporation (founded 1892 in Milwaukee Wisconsin; today operated as Rexnord Industries LLC — Falk brand within Rexnord) manufactured through the 20th century one of the principal U.S. lines of industrial gearboxes, speed reducers, couplings, and power transmission equipment for steel mills, cement plants, paper mills, mining operations, sugar mills, and general industrial machinery.

Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that Falk industrial gearboxes and power transmission equipment were specified through the asbestos era with asbestos gasket material at gearbox housing joints and access covers, asbestos insulation on heated gearbox lubrication systems, and asbestos brake-block material on couplings. Plant millwrights and industrial maintenance workers who serviced, rebuilt, and repaired Falk equipment disturbed asbestos as routine maintenance work.

The Falk Corporation / Rexnord has been named as a Manufacturer Defendant in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation.
