Celotex Corporation (founded 1920, headquartered Tampa FL; today Certainteed brand; acquired Philip Carey Company / Carey-Canada asbestos operations 1971) manufactured through the 20th century a broad line of asbestos-containing roofing, insulation, ceiling tile, and building products. Celotex is one of the most heavily-litigated U.S. asbestos-defendants; the Celotex Asbestos Settlement Trust was established under Celotex’s 1990 Chapter 11 to handle asbestos personal-injury liability.
