Product Description
Plaintiffs alleged in publicly filed U.S. asbestos personal-injury and wrongful-death litigation that Allis-Chalmers, a major U.S. cement plant equipment supplier, furnished rotary kilns whose trunnion roller assemblies allegedly used asbestos rope packing as heat and dust seals around bearing housings, and whose riding-ring shim/insulation collars allegedly used asbestos fabric between the kiln shell and the trunnion pedestals.
According to publicly filed asbestos litigation records, these packings and fabric shims allegedly required routine cutting-and-fit service by cement plant millwrights during trunnion adjustments, generating airborne fiber near the drive end and thrust roller stations.
