Service Description
Adience, Inc. (corporate successor to J.H. France Refractories Company, also known as BMI Refractories Inc.) manufactured and installed asbestos-bearing refractory products and furnace systems for U.S. industrial customers across the asbestos era. Adience products were installed at electric utility power plants, petroleum refineries, chemical plants, paper mills, steel mills, naval vessels, and broader U.S. industrial worksites.
Adience has been named as an Installer Defendant in publicly filed OBLF Missouri asbestos petitions, alleged to have installed “furnaces with asbestos-containing insulation incorporated thereon or specified for use thereon; contract installation and removal of asbestos products.”
Asbestos Exposure Pathway
Adience employees performing refractory and furnace work at customer industrial sites — and bystander workers in adjacent areas — were exposed to asbestos during refractory installation, tear-out and replacement, furnace rebuilds, and related industrial refractory contracting.
